Come celebrate the return of the light as we creep toward longer days and warmer weather. The Southern Illinois Pagan Alliance presents Imbolc, its first public ritual of 2018, Saturday, February 3 at Gaia House in Carbondale.
Imbolc is rich in ancient and historic Gaelic tradition much of it derived from reverence for the goddess Brigid. Candlemas is noted by some as a Christianization of Imbolc. Attendees are asked to bring a red candle, either new of from a previous Imbolc ritual
As always, SIPA rituals are free and open to the public. All are welcome. The gathering starts at 6 p.m. Ritual starts at 7 p.m. A potluck will follow. Bring what you can to share.
Gaia House is located at 913 South Illinois Avenue at the intersection of Grand Avenue across from Southern Illinois University.
