Carbondale – National award winning author, artist and owner of Plush UNLTD, Creative Studio & Co., Tiffany D. Walker is hosting a summer art program for children ages 8-12. The academy is a two week curriculum-based program featuring visual and performing art. It will be held on location at their brand new one of a kind open art studio at 205 S Marion Street in Carbondale, IL.  A local native with over a decade of graphic and performing art  experience, Tiffany has performed on several infamous stages including the Nuyorican Poets Café’ in New York City and The Apache Café in Atlanta, GA. She has also had her paintings displayed and distributed by the United Negro College Fund and has an original acrylic piece in the current Locality exhibition at the Carbondale Community Arts, Artspace 304 Gallery.

 The Creative Kids Academy will be a two part hands-on program: Part One (week one) focuses on Visual Art and ends with a public art show, called One Vision, in the studio featuring the students work. Part Two (week two) focuses on Performing Art and ends with a public performing arts showcase, Spoken Words, where students can perform their final poem or monologue. Friday’s class of Part Two will also include a visit to the Locality exhibition’s public reception at CCA. Students who complete either session will be presented with a gift and certificate of completion. Each Monday of both sessions will be open to the public for a $12 admission (plus supplies fee). Registration for those walk-in days ends at noon on the same day.

 Creative Kids Academy will be held at Plush UNLTD Creative Studio & Co., 205 S Marion Street, Carbondale, IL at 5-7pm from July 17-21 and July 31-August 5, 2017 with a special rehearsal from 2-4:30pm, on Friday, August 4. The price for this unique summer program is $35 per week or $65 for both. Day passes are $7 for Monday, July 17 and Monday July 31 and are available to the public. A one-time $5 supply fee is required per student. Daily refreshments will be included. Students will have the opportunity to make their work available for purchase.
