Carbondale Community Arts is pleased to announce the fourth annual Carbondale Community Arts University. The continuing education program designed to foster life-long learning and engagement in the arts and humanities brings together scholars, artists, experts and community members around a specific topic. CCAU IV:Confluence Arts and Water seeks to present a broad range of information and ideas to the community on the topic of water through the months of November and December 2016.
CCAU IV: Confluence Arts and Water commences with an exhibit reception on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 6-8pm. This event is free and open to the public.
On view is Watercourse, an exhibit of photographic prints and accompanying text by Dan Overturf and Gary Marx, telling the stories of the people living along the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers in southern Illinois.
Visitors to Artspace 304 will also have the opportunity to experience an interactive exhibit,River Hydrology by Steve Gough and Little River Research and Design, is a proprietary Emriver model that is a highly effective interactive laboratory to engage students and facilitate research in river science, engineering, and the geosciences.
Both exhibits run through December 2, 2016.
CCA’s Artspace 304 is located at 304 W Walnut Street in downtown Carbondale. Free parking is available in the lots off of S University Ave between W Monroe St and W Walnut St.
