ROCK ROULETTE (program/fundraiser)

Girls Rock Carbondale is excited to announce a new program fundraiser hybrid called Rock Roulette. This adult program carves out a special place in the local music scene for six weeks only, ending in a live performance at Hangar 9.

Rock Roulette gives adult women, trans, and non-binary people who are 19 or older a chance to be in a band with friends or total strangers for six weeks. Participants of all ability levels form their own bands with other participants in a fun and supportive environment at the Rock Roulette Kick Off Party, Sunday, January 7th. Bands practice weekly, write up to three songs, and prepare to perform live in succession with other Rock Roulette bands at the annual Girls Rock Fundraiser February 17th at Hangar 9.

While participants are responsible for coordinating practice times, and developing original content, Girls Rock helps bands coordinate a practice space, supplements gear, offers songwriting resources, and a band coach.

Bands also fundraise for GRC via Razoo (online fundraising platform), and receive an invaluable experience of being in a band and rocking an instrument. This program is an excellent way to raise funds for Girls Rock Carbondale’s programs and camps, and gives participants a chance to meet new people and play live on stage. The program is completely free and participants may have zero to advanced musical experience.

Registration for 2018 open until the Kick Off Party on January 7. Visit for details and to sign up in advance.
